Ouroboros-Book Cover

Faux book cover done in class, using paper torn (not cut!) by hand into a semi-abstract shape of a dragon forming a spiral, to represent Ouroboros, the symbol of cyclicality and a frequent figure in ancient myth. If you don't know what Ouroboros is, I highly recommend googling it--it's pretty cool. ;)

Time taken: About 2 hours (most of which was spent ripping up the paper).

Cutesy Monsters

Done for a client who wanted "cutesy monsters" to base a theme for her son's first birthday party around. She wanted simplified monster designs that were not too close to any easily identifiable animals, and she "liked horns."
Done as vectors, alternate stroke styles.

Time taken: about 3 hours.
Program used: Adobe Illustrator CS4

Vector Cheshire Cat

Not my design--this was a "fanart" request of the Chesire Cat from Alice in Wonderland, as defined in the horror video game American McGee's Alice. This piece has no shading yet as the decision was made to go with a different style of cat, but I thought there was enough work in this piece to warrant putting it up here.

Program used: Adobe Illustrator CS4
Time taken: about 5 hours.

Vector Cakes

Finished version of the "vector cakes" illustration I did, with soft gradient background. The style is "loose color" and is, in fact, a vector--any of these cakes can easily be enlarged and/or given different colors.

I want to eat the chocolate tiered cake. <3

Program used: Adobe Illustrator CS4
Time taken: about 7 hours

Assorted vector graphics

Some assorted vector graphics done in the "loose color" style of applying color in very rudamentary shapes beneath the actual strokes. Drawing that loosely is a new experience for me--I tend to draw "within the lines" most of the time.

Various Mixed Media

Thought I should upload some photographs of mixed media pieces I've done, to show potential employers some of my other skills.
